Biography

As a family physician, I see patients from birth through their senior years, manage most diseases and conditions, and even provide women's health and mental health services. I also facilitate communication between my patients and any specialists they may need to see. I am interested in preventive medicine and helping patients make healthy lifestyle choices. Through it all, I have the honor of getting to know not only my patients but their family members as well. Together, we develop a level of trust. Everyone needs a family doctor they can trust. By understanding what's important to my patients, I'm able to provide care that reflects their values and outlook on life.
Growing up, I knew that I wanted to have a positive impact on the wellbeing of those around me. The challenge of studying medicine also attracted me, as my strengths and interests are in science and health. I majored in biology at Texas Christian University and then went on to earn a master's degree in medical science at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. I volunteered at Cook Children's Hospital, checking on patients in their rooms and monitoring playroom activities. Helping people get through difficult times was a heartwarming experience. While I was earning my medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a free clinic in Galveston'St. Vincent's House'and take part in a medical mission to care for the underserved in Brownsville. Those experiences reinforced my belief that every patient should be treated with the utmost trust and confidentiality. My residency in family medicine at Methodist Hospital reaffirmed my decision to specialize in a field of medicine that allows me help everyone.
As a long-time member of the Fort Worth community, I look forward to caring for the members of my hometown. When I'm not seeing patients, I enjoy traveling, spending time at the beach, attending car shows, cooking new recipes, and walking along the Trinity River.
