Vanessa Ven Huizen, DO

Vanessa Ven Huizen, DO, practices family medicine and is board-certified by ABFM. She embraces the physician-patient partnership in her patient care philosophy.

Dr. Ven Huizen completed medical school at the University of North Texas and residency at Christus Spohn Hospital. She gravitated toward medicine as a career for as long as she can remember—she never wanted to do anything else. She chose family medicine because she wanted to be familiar with all aspects of patient health. Dr. Ven Huizen loves treating patients and navigating complex medical cases. She enjoys explaining conditions so patients feel empowered to make healthy changes.

Dr. Ven Huizen was born in Sicily. She is married and has two children. Outside of work, she enjoys reading books, playing pickleball, paddle boarding, attending country music concerts and watching her daughter play club volleyball. Clinically, she has a particular interest in treating asthma, COPD, dementia, depression and migraines. She also enjoys working with geriatric patients.
