Dr. Coutinho is compassion, knowledgeable caring, understanding, really cares when you are not feeling well, are making sure I get my appointment like mammogram, bone density, blood work, and what ever else I might need. He explains everything where you can understand. Never makes you feel like he's in a rush. Doctor Coutinho even called me himself to explain my blood work results.

I did feel comfortable with Dr Coutinho, but unfortunately in the past several years the Drs are constantly leaving this practice. So as of now I am happy with Dr Coutinho and I do hope he will continue practicing at this location. I am constantly getting new insurance cards to update the new Drs. I have considered leaving wellmed because of this problem, I'm not sure if this is happening at all Wellmed locations or just at the Alamo Heights location. But it has definitely been a problem

Dr. Coutinho took an interest in listening to me as I was a new patient. He checked my medicines and talked about my health and inquired of any problems I was experiencing. Then he explained that the staff would draw blood to run some tests. I felt quite comfortable in his presence.

New office location is not very convenient which is why I chose him in the first place. Since he moved and took on his new locations patients my scheduled appointment wasn’t till 2026. The only reason I was able to see him earlier was to fill out an Adderall consent form.

He’s indifferent … rushed..did not read my labs and talk to me about them, I had lots of questions when I got home.i brought a list of written questions into the clinic and was told the office would make a copy and he would ‘look later … the office wants me to bring in ALL MEDS IN THEIR ORIGINAL CONTAINERS. BOTTLES OF Tylenol, Motrin, current meds . I was QUESTIONED about each RX and the lids were opened and they shook the pills around. Why is this done? I’m not in a drug rehab facility. it made me feel really stupid. Why do you do this to patients?

Dr. Coutinho is an exceptionally good GP. He takes the time necessary to complete the appointment. Asking questions, listening to the answers, and then responding appropriately to any issues raised. He's thorough, but it doesn't feel like he orders unnecessary tests/procedures. He's referred me to a few specialist doctors and those new doctors have been quite good as well. I always leave his appointments knowing I've received the best care possible.
