She is an excellent doctor. I feel that the care provided for me by Dr. Mewis is limited by your corporations requirements -- such as a form requiring my signature that I should be aware that if I ask any questions about my health that are not on the well-check check up I will be subject to an extra charge for asking those questions. When I needed medical care from my primary care physician when I was sick, I was told that I could see her in three weeks and I should go to an Emergency Care Center. If your corporation does not allow my primary physician to set aside in her day to care for patients other than annual checkups, then you have destroyed her ability to see her patients when they are sick. When I am sick, I want to see my primary care physician -- not a stranger who may or may not have access to my records. This IS NOT A REFLECTION ON DR. MAVIS, BUT ON WELLMED. I am positive that she is doing her very best to provide care within the limitations imposed by you.

I have only had one visit. We’ll see how things progress. I do appreciate her being thorough and professional with my extensive history she had to cover. So far, we haven't met eye to eye on anything. Since when is it that doctors diagnose without touching the patient? Any complaints I've had have been met with me being referred to a specialist without the doctor even trying to figure things out o her own. A PCP should get to know her patients and at least try to help before shipping thesaid patient off to someone else. As an example: Hip pain is automatically bursa pain, and I need to have PT. This pain was never there until I tore my labram in a fall. I was told a labral tear would not hurt where I have the pain, so it's a bursa problem. No exam, just ship me out. That's just a bit concerning to me. I know the PA better than the doctor. In the same context, the PA makes decisions for the patient, then the doctor later asks silly questions like "who put you on that?" Oversight is not being followed through or documented properly if she doesn't know. I know that managed care requires more of the doctors, but treating the patient should not be compromised in the process of the almighy buck.With requirements made of the doctors a PCP is only the first of many swinging doors. I would change doctors, but there's no guarantee that I will get any better care anywhere else under these current conditions.

I am very fond of Dr. Mewis. As previously stated, the visit felt very rushed. Many of the things she did before during my well woman visit was not performed at this visit. Was never asked to undress, no breast exam performed, and I kind of left shaking my head. I wasn't in the exam room for more than 20 minutes.

Anyone would be fortunate to have her as their internist. It is obvious she is concerned about her patients' health. She is an excellent caring listener. She answers questions and asks pertinent questions. She goes through all medications and office contacts pharmacy in a timely way to start or renew medications. Dr. Mewis will refer when needed. She and the office make sure you have your follow up appointment before leaving. Traffic to Weatherford is terrible right now because of construction but it is worth it.

I like her. She's friendly and seems confident in her analysis. But I've had a few issues that I've presented to her (like at times my tongue vibrates or shakes (it just started this last year), and I don't know why - or my hip joint hurts really bad when I first stand or start moving and It's affecting the way I walk, and others) and I just get the answer "that's old age" (I'm [omitted]) which I'm sure it is but I would still like to be referred to specialists who can address it and find out the cause in case it's something else. She never refers me to specialists like that.

Dr. Mewis has always been very responsive, has taken a good amount of time during my visits with her and is very professional and knowledgeable. She has been my primary physician for more than 20 years. Although her move to full time practice in Weatherford has made it less convenient to see her (since we live 40 miles away), I have chosen to continue because I do have such high regard for her.

Long wait time to see Dr. Like most places. Nothing against Dr it's that way most places here. I came from a area where if I had a problem I could see my Dr same day not two weeks. Could be dead by then. Seems all primary Drs are supporting the emergency clinics that are everywhere now.
