Biography

Joel Walker, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine and pediatrics doctor. While growing up in Dallas, Dr. Walker was determined to learn everything he could about the human body, which compelled him to pursue a medical career. While attending medical school, he aspired to become a revered, old-fashioned and much-likable Marcus Welby-type doctor.

When caring for his patients, Dr. Walker embraces the Goldilocks principle of health care, which involves developing customized treatment plans for each patient based on their unique circumstances. Being part of his patient's lives is highly rewarding for Dr. Walker, who holds dear to his heart several highlights in his career: a child running down the hallway toward him to deliver a hug, a daughter thanking him for caring for a parent and an elderly patient smiling warmly in recognition of his doctor despite having difficulty remembering much else.

Dr. Walker has two grown daughters and currently lives with his wife in Keller, Texas. In his spare time, he enjoys reading a good book and hiking in the mountains.
