Biography

Edward Bates, MD, is an internal medicine specialist who offers preventive care and management of conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. He enjoys getting to know patients and forming long-term relationships with them.

Dr. Bates was drawn to health care because he had a lifelong interest in the sciences and a desire to work with people. Medicine allows him to help people achieve better health while also pursuing his passion for science. He enjoys both the clinical and academic aspects of the field.

Dr. Bates attended medical school at Texas Tech University School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. When he isn’t working with patients, Dr. Bates enjoys fishing, traveling and ranching. He is married and has four children.
