Biography

Fernando Valdez, MD, makes sure to actively listen to patients and encourages them to get involved in their care. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Valdez was drawn to pursue a career in family medicine because it reminded him of the old-fashioned way of practicing medicine. Today, he has the privilege of treating multiple family members, from children to older adults. His favorite part of the job is forming relationships with his patients and their families.

Born in south Texas, Dr. Valdez spent most of his early childhood years traveling with his family, who were migrant farm workers. Today, he resides in the San Antonio, Texas, area with his wife and two children. His hobbies include doing yard work and small DIY home projects. In addition, he enjoys traveling to places with a long and rich history and learning about their culture.
