I went into Wellmed without an appointment because of the pain in my arm so I asked to see a nurse. Instead, Dr. Alonzo came to my room and I was surprised because I expected to only see a nurse, but she said, "I have to see my patients!" I thanked her since I didn't have an appointment and she said, "You're my patient!" and smiled!

Prior to my first visit, although I asked the office, I was not advised to fast for initial bloodwork since they were unsure if, or which, lab work would be necessary. I was told after the examination Dr. Alonzo would recommend another visit for labs and I would fast if required. Instead my blood was drawn and having had a regular meal beforehand may have influenced critical results.

Dr. Alonzo is extremely competent and nice. I appreciate her guiding interns. My knee was better after the intern's knee injection, but the pain never fully went away.

I really like Dr. Alonzo. I feel she is very knowledgeable, experienced, professional, and thorough. The only reasons I don't give her a higher score are because it's very difficult to actually get an appointment with her and she doesn't always follow up quickly (or at all?) with the patient portal or pharmacy re: RX issues. I'm assuming she has a very full patient load, which makes it difficult/impossible for her to meet these needs the way I'd like/need. I have seen several PAs in past appointments scheduled with Dr. Alonzo who were all professional and provided quality health care, but I'd prefer to see my actual primary physician more than once every 18-24 months for continuity of care and comfort level.
