Laura Villarreal, MD

Laura Villarreal, MD, practices family medicine. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and completed her residency at John Peter Smith Hospital. Her patient care philosophy embraces holistic principles.

Dr. Villarreal had a calling to pursue a medical career since early childhood. She enjoys working in family medicine because it allows her to manage many different disease processes, including mental health conditions. She believes in holistic care, which involves listening, interacting, explaining, clarifying, validating and ultimately supporting her patients in their health decisions. Her favorite part of her job is talking to her patients and making a positive difference in their lives.

Dr. Villarreal was born in Mexico and raised in San Antonio, Texas. In her spare time, she enjoys movies, music, traveling, reading and spending time with her son. Clinically, she is particularly interested in preventive care and treating behavioral health conditions, depression, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and obesity.
